Vermont Sketchbook by Paul Calter
Most of the paintings in this small volume are simple field sketches; unretouched pages torn from my sketchpad, typically watercolors on paper. They were done on the spot, quickly, and give a fresh impression of the scene before me. They are arranged into sections where there is a natural grouping, such as Mount Mansfield sketches, Vermont lake scenes, or paintings of the White River. Within each section they are in approximate chronological order, each with a date and sometimes the time, forming a visual journal.
I hope you enjoy seeing Vermont through my eyes.
