RSJ7371 Youth Justice Re-Imagined

This course will engage students in exploring, challenging, and re-imagining the juvenile justice paradigm. We will investigate our current system and ourselves to determine how bias shows up, disproportionately impacting marginalized youth who are trapped within the school-to-prison pipeline. Additionally, we will investigate ways to operationalize the underlying concepts of restorative theory to obtain meaningful justice by acknowledging and addressing unmet communal, familial, and individual need.
